Wahbung offers programming, advocacy, and support for children and their families aimed at supporting the holistic healing of the family unit. Wahbung’s programming includes children & youth programming, adult focused programming, cultural programming; housing programming, and Community Helper Initiative programming for the whole family unit. Wahbung also offers support through various food security programming, counselling, advocacy and referrals, capacity building and volunteer opportunities, and community-driven events.
Cultural Program
A program designed to provide culturally-relevant support services in individual and group settings to participants. The cultural Support Worker supports programming across the organization and runs cultural programming sessions to the community throughout the year that includes traditional ceremonies, teachings, community feasts, and artisan workshops.
Men's Program
A program for men (18+) designed to support individuals by encouraging and supporting physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being through self-discovery, building confidence, goal setting, and cultural activities.
Women's Program
A program for women (18+) designed to support individuals by encouraging and supporting physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being through self-discovery, building confidence, goal setting, and cultural activities.
Healing and Harm Reduction
A program designed to walk alongside individuals on their recovery journey. Programming includes individual and group activities, traditional teachings through a harm reduction lens, and knowledge around the impacts of addiction on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.
Traditional Parenting Program
A program for caregivers 18+ designed to equip caregivers with strategies to play a key role in the development of their children’s physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being through positive parenting, strengthening attachment, communication and cultural teachings.

Little Ones and Caregivers Program A program for caregivers (18+) and their children (aged 5 & under) designed to support bonding and attachment between caregivers and their children through activities (art, music, dance, cultural teachings) that provide empower caregivers and their children to connect. Summery Day Camp For youth aged 6-17 designed to provide opportunities for youth to positively impact their mental physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being through healthy meals, and activities that promote mentorship, positive memories, resiliency and relationship building. |
Community Helper Initiative
A specialized on-going program that provides children and their families with culturally-relevant, child-centred supports to increase connection, prevent involvement or further involvement with the child welfare system and help families thrive.

Housing Program
Men’s Emergency Shelter
Wahbung Abinoonjiiag operates an emergency shelter program for male-identifying individuals and their families who are at-risk or experiencing family violence. For information regarding Wahbung's male-identifying shelter and other shelters in Manitoba contact the provincial 24/7 crisis and information line at 1-877-977-0007. Transitional Housing Wahbung currently operates transitional housing suites for individuals and families impacted by family violence. Group and Individual Housing Program Provides support to those who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness as a result of gender-based violence. The housing program offers group based support and education including housing loss prevention and skill building group workshops. The housing program also offers individualized supports and referrals to individuals and families to assist in the search for affordable housing, accessing income assistance, connecting with local organizations and more. |
